School and
Business Registration
Schools and
businesses registering to be listed in our database are asked
to provide a name, phone number and e-mail address. We use this
information to contact the individual or business about the services
we offer that they have shown an interest in and for notifications
about their account.
Tell-A-Friend
We also collect
information that visitors to our site have provided to us about
other people. This information is collected on the Tell-A-Friend
section of our site and is used to inform others via e-mail of
the features and services we provide. If a user elects to use
our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we
ask them for the friend’s name and email address. SchoolFair.net
will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting
them to visit the site. We store this information for the sole
purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success
of our referral program. The friend may contact SchoolFair on
the Net at Info@SchoolFair.net
to request the removal of this information from our database.
Surveys
and Contests
From time-to-time,
our site requests information from users via surveys or contests.
Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary
and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose
this information. The requested information typically includes
contact information (such as name and e-mail address), and demographic
information (such as zip code). Contact information will be used
to notify the winners and award prizes. Anonymous Survey information
will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and
satisfaction of this site. Users’ personally identifiable information
is not shared with third parties unless we give prior notice and
choice. Though we may use an intermediary to conduct these surveys
or contests, they may not use users’ personally identifiable information
for any secondary purposes.
Traffic Monitoring
Using programs
that monitor traffic by automatically recording every visitor's
host, domain name, pages visited, length of user sessions, browser
type and/or IP address is a common practice among web sites. SchoolFair.net
uses this type of program to track the number of times the site
is hit, how many visitors come to the site, which parts of the
site they frequent, and the length of time of each visit. This
information does not contain personally identifiable information
and is used to evaluate areas of interest and to improve the SchoolFair.net
site and may be provided to third parties by SchoolFair.net or
our affiliates.
Cookies
A cookie is
a small text file placed on a user's computer hard drive when
they visit a Web site. The cookie gives the user a unique, random
ID, and this ID enables our site to readily recognize each visitor
on a subsequent visit to the site. For example, a cookie may indicate
the preferences selected by a visitor on a prior visit, and facilitate
more efficient browsing on subsequent visits by using such preferences
to customize the content and/or layout of our site for the visitor.
SchoolFair.net may use cookies in this fashion, but our users
always have the option of not accepting them. Visitors are free
to change their web browsers to prevent the acceptance of cookies.
SchoolFair.net’s cookies do not contain personally identifiable
information collected by SchoolFair.net. Some of our business
partners use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers).
However, we have no access to or control over these cookies, once
we have given permission for them to set cookies for advertising.
Children
Protecting
the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that
reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website
from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website
is structured to attract anyone under 13.
Special Offers
and Updates
Established
members will occasionally receive information on products, services,
special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy
of our users we present the option to not receive these types
of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.
Newsletter
If a user
wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information
such as name and email address. Out of respect for our users
privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications.
Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.
Service
Announcements
On rare occasions
it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement.
For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance
we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out
of these communications, though they can deactivate their account.
However, these communications are not promotional in nature.
Customer
Service
We communicate
with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and
in regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email
or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.
Choice and
Opt Out
Users will always have the ability to opt not to receive e-mail
or other means of communication from SchoolFair.net. We respect
your privacy and realize that not everyone likes to receive special
offers or information. Users will have the ability upon registering
at the site to opt out from receiving e-mail or other communications.
If you receive such e-mail or communications and would prefer
not to in the future, you may remove your name from SchoolFair.net’s
lists by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line of the e-mail
or by contacting us at Info@SchoolFair.net.
Again, please remember, once we have provided information to our
suppliers or selected vendors due to transactions initiated by
you, we are not responsible for their use of the information,
and you should consult their respective privacy and information
use policies.

If, however,
we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information
in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection
we will notify users via e-mail and/or by posting a notice on
